TO THE PARTICIPANTS AND ORGANIZERS OF THE
EUROPEAN ENVIRONMENT FESTIVAL
“GREEN WAVE – 21ST CENTURY”

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,
It is my pleasure to welcome all participants, organizers and guests on the occasion of this 5th annual European Environment Festival “Green Wave – 21st Century”.
The environment has become a pressing and vital issue in recent times. In the 21st century the human race can only find its full expression in the context of clean natural environment, a society of free and educated people and a responsible social policy. The unique wealth of nature can be protected by means of consistent and effective environmental conservation activities.
The efforts of the organizers and sympathisers of the European Environmental Festival in bringing environmental issues to the forefront of public attention deserve a great deal of respect. They lead us to think more and more about our contribution to the rational and optimum use of natural resources for the overall benefit of humanity and the survival of the planet. One of the aims of human development is to improve our standard of living and the indicators of such development include the level of education among the population, our way of life and the cleanliness of the environment. Wholesome interaction with the environment guarantees the health of the population and uplifts our national and overall human culture. In order to care for the new generation we must be ready to raise environmental issues truthfully and justly and we must be open to hear and consider the ways to solve them.
